May 11, 2010--7 weeks Officially made my choice of the Myrrh-Bryce puppies born 3/23/11! "Clary" is an old-fashioned herb documented in the 1500's, related to sage, used in perfumes and to stimulate digestion, has a calming effect and relieves anxiety, also used as a cleansing wash for eyes or wounds. I chose Clary because she is so much like her mother Myrrh at this age! Here's Clary with the ducks:

10 weeks Those ears are really coming up! We went to the sheep ranch June 5, 2010, and Clary was moving the sheep all over the 100 x 200 foot pen! After we caught her and took her out of the pen, she wanted to dive under the gate to go move more sheep in the next pen over, so she is now declared "an official nuisance" by Terry Parrsh, the herding instructor, and has to be on leash. She is doing quite well with her training: hand touches, "It's your choice" game, crate games, learning "Wait" at the door and recalls.

June 12, 2010--11 1/2 weeks Clary went to her first NADAC agility trial!

She has exactly the same white stripe on her left ear as her Grandma Belle! Hopefully she will also have the calm, sweet genes of Belle...
June 26, 2010--3 months old! Clary weighs 18 pounds. She went to her first USBCHA sheepherding trial, where Myrrh competed in the San Diego Scottish Highland Games. Not only did she watch sheep dogs working, she met loads of men, women and children of all ages, plus experienced a competition between bagpipe and drums bands!

July 24, 2010--4 months old! Clary is really taking to herding. Today she circled a group of 7 sheep both ways in a 100 x 100' pen, I was able to keep her behind the sheep as we worked them over to the fence, then caught her using the thin long line. She's all business! Beautiful distance and speed going "Come bye" (clockwise), tighter and wants to cut in on the "Away to me" (counterclockwise) direction.

She LOVES to attack the hose and "herd" her sister Fly!
But Fly knows how to say, "Enough, already!"
Herding at Terry's Action K-9 Sports:

February 2011 -- 10 months old
Clary is herding in the big open field! She is a tough little cookie, like her mother Myrrh. We also just finished a Beginner Obedience class, and on graduation night, Clary won the obedience competition over all the other Beginner dogs from 2 classes, about 20 dogs!
