AGI Winthrop Heart of Gold TN-N, "Dory"

In August 2007, Teresa took the Yellow girl to her home--one of her students was interested in getting a puppy, and the Yellow girl sounded like a perfect fit for her!  Becky Howard is her new owner, and Becky's granddaughter named the puppy "Dory" after the silly fish in "Finding Nemo."  Her registered name is Winthrop Heart of Gold.  Dory will be a much-loved pet and companion for Becky and her other BC, Jax, and will be training with Teresa in agility.

At 6 months old, Becky Howard's Yellow girl, Dory, is learning agility with Teresa, and terrorizes her housemate, BC Jax!  Teresa says:  Here are some pictures I took of Dory this morning.  We will know tomorrow how much she weighs, she is getting spayed then.  Found out that Becky is most concerned about an unplanned breeding since the neighbors routinely get Dory out of the yard when Becky is at work.  If that were to happen while Dory was in heat, no telling who the daddy might be!  Update: Dory came through her surgery fine, and weighs 33.5 pounds!

May 2009:

Quick note on Dory (Winthrop Heart of Gold, lives with Becky Howard & Jax in Evansville, IN).  Dory got to see sheep for the first time this past weekend.  She went to a herding instinct test with Joyce Burnham.  Her housemate, Jax, 'turned on' as soon as she heard sheep for the first time & was brilliant.  Dory was a bit more distracted, a bit more reluctant to tune in.  That pretty much is classic Dory behavior, by the way <g>  When Becky left Dory in a stay in the middle of the field (this pup can stay??? - never has in agility!), and Becky walked out and talked to and started to touch the sheep, everything changed.  Dory came alive & was intensely interested in the sheep!  Both of the girls passed their instinct test, and their human had a good time.

At Dory's first AKC trial she was AWESOME!!  Her standard run was absolutely PERFECT - except she ran under the tire which was the first obstacle.  She got her weaves on the first approach too!!  She did not Q because I did not go back & make her get the tire correctly.  Her temperament does not tolerate repeating an obstacle & I wanted to get a good run with her.  In FAST, the tire could be the first obstacle, so we did it that way & it took 3 tries for her to figure out to jump through it.  Not sure where that problem came from, but she went on to Q in Novice Fast for her first AKC Q.

November 2009 Dory completed her UKC AGI agility title, her first AGII leg, and now has 2 NADAC TN-N legs!
